Directed by Michael Curtiz ( Casablanca ), this beautiful film is full of vivid color and superb cinematography. It also stars Stuart Whitman and Pedro Armendariz, and it is based on the novel by Louis de Wohl. (Not long after playing St. Clare, Dolores Hart left Hollywood and became a cloistered contemplative Benedictine nun.)
